I road with my sunglasses outside the helmet straps today. Surely that is the one thing that I was missing before--now I'll be part of the hip crowd.

I started wearing the visor on my road helmet last summer. I got tired of squinting for hours at a time during hot sunny summer rides, and I have enough brown splotches on my face. I don't care who is pointing and laughing at me.
I was just starting to take myself too seriously and was going to buy a helmet without a visor! Thanks for the reality check, NY

The best part is--DH showed this to me because he thought it was funny--BUT he takes quite a bit of this seriously He hangs out on bikeforum.com after all

I'll add #38: You use a handlebar bag or rack! My itty-bitty black handlebar bag drives my husband CRAZY (funny he's always digging in there for something)

    hahahahaha

I don't consider myself a snob at all and happily violate many of those rules ... but I have to say I looked askance when a woman showed up at our evening club ride (30-ish miles) on her brand new carbon Felt with a GINORMOUS handlebar bag (so big that it turned out later the reason she was slow was that it was dragging on her front tire ).

What in the world does she need in there for a two-hour ride? (If she were a photographer I might give her an SLR camera with two or three lenses ... which would've fit ... but that would be too heavy to carry on the handlebars anyway.)

Me too. My brother in law always teasing me - lovingly of course. But I don't give a rat's behind. :-) I'm wrinkly and spotted enough, thank you very much.
