Sausage Leg???

A woman I used to work with once made a comment that I thought was intended for me, about how sad it is that so many women's self esteem is completely ruined by that little jiggle at the top of their thighs. In retrospect, she probably didn't mean it for me (because it seems a large percentage of women feel this way about their thighs), but it hit so close to home, that it had a big impact. If you focus too much on that jiggle, the negativity will permeate your whole life, and can really prevent you from being happy. She was really right on with that observation.

It's not a self-esteem issue for me...it's a comfort issue. That chub chafes painfully. And shorts that smoosh it out even more wear out VERY fast (like in a ride or two I've developed holes in brand new >$100 shorts, which really p!sses me off to no end)...so then it becomes a $$$ financial issue, as well.

It's self esteem for me. I've come a long way, though. Back when I worked with that woman, there is no way I would have been able to been seen in bike shorts. Now, I just try to ignore mirrors when I have them on.

I try to avoid mirrors when I am dressed in sleeveless cycling tops, 'cause I hate my upper arms (I have stretch marks on my arms and they remind me of my great aunt's floppy arms).
