And then there is Jens... "Shut up legs!".
And then there is Jens... "Shut up legs!".
That's super
I'm liking this one-
"Ride your bike, ride your bike, ride your bike"
Fausto Coppi
When a reporter asked him what it takes to become such a great champion.
and here's a non-racing one
I thought of that while riding my bike.
Albert Einstein - On the Theory of Relativity.
these are both from http://www.allgreatquotes.com/cycling_quotes.shtml
One more - because this one made me laugh out loud.....
I won! I won! I don't have to go to school anymore.
Eddy Merckx
After winning his first bike race.

from the same web page Eden links, Frances Willard:
She who succeeds in gaining the mastery of the bicycle will gain the mastery of life.
Frances E. Willard, How I Learned to Ride the Bicycle.
These are just little 'filler' items in the book so I think a mix of things is fine. My sister has a bunch of food and eating quotes for it, but I thought a few cycling ones belong there too since we are raising money by riding our bikes, and you can see the cover art is someone in our jersey cycling. We also put in a few of our mother's quotes, which will likely only make our family laugh, but that's OK too. It's the recipes that really matter.
Thanks for the input and the link. That's great help!!
My favorite is
Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride. ~John F. Kennedy
I also believe someone here at TE uses or used to use this quote in their signature.

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike. -Queen
"What makes a great endurance athlete is the ability to absorb potential embarrassment, and to suffer without complaint." -Lance Armstrong
"It never gets easier, you just go faster."
Greg LeMond
"There are too many factors you have to take into account that you have no control over...The most important factor you can keep in your own hands is yourself. I always placed the greatest emphasis on that."
Eddy Merckx
"The bicycle is just as good company as most husbands and, when it gets old and shabby, a woman can dispose of it and get a new one without shocking the entire community."
Ann Strong
"Pain is a big fat creature riding on your back. The farther you pedal, the heavier he feels. The harder you push, the tighter he squeezes your chest. The steeper the climb, the deeper he digs his jagged, sharp claws into your muscles."
Scott Martin
“When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.”
Emo Philips
“Get a bicycle. You will not regret it. If you live.”
Mark Twain
“Every time I see an adult on a bicycle, I no longer despair for the future of the human race.”
