    Whine and Cheese

First the whine...hadn't been on my bike in over 2 weeks (vacations, bad weather, etc), so I knew I was gonna struggle with my group ride this morning. Woke up at 7:30, wanted to just roll over and go back to sleep, but dragged myself outta bed. Beautiful day for a ride (unusually mild for July in NC), so I didn't want to miss it. Started riding, it was windy, legs were hurting, lungs were burning, I was sooooo slow, waaaah waaaaah.

Then the cheese....when I finished, I was so happy I did the ride! Felt proud for finishing, even though I was a slow poke. Rode with some nice folks. On the ride home, I was just...happy! I love cycling!!
Sorry for the early morning cheese!

    How were your rides today?

Had a great ride this morning, too bad about falling over but otherwise a good ride.

Love those mild summer days, they are so rare!

Good for you! I have that feeling from time to time and hoping I don't have it tomorrow before my 50-miler. I have to get to the next town over to get there, so I have to leave early. It's good when you are done, though.

My ride was good today. I rode 10 with my Dad for charity. It was a recovery from Friday's 50. Crossed into Michigan again. It was flat and fun.

But you did it- and your bike is SO glad you did!!

I have rides (and especially runs) like that. You feel so slow and it's painful and brutal, but you finish thinking: yeah- that was GREAT!
Sometimes I just with the feeling happened DURING the ride/run instead of after.

Like that Saucony commercial that plays over and over during the TdF: "strong is what's left when you've run out of weak." We all have days when it's like pulling teeth, but we do it anyway. Cuz we're rad like that.

    I love this!

I haven't been on my bike since Tuesday because of weather and cramps due to the biological fluke of being a girl and I am jonesing HARD. This on top of dogsitting for a friend giving me a grand total of three dogs in my little house who have energy that I envy is going to make me go stir crazy! Yay for you getting back on the bike and loving it!
