    Need female advice FAST!!!!

I posted under Touring as well, but noticed a lot more people were looking at the open threads. Embarking on a 6 day tour Sunday and I have a mild yeast infection and used a OTC 1 day treatment last nite, but doesn't feel much different. I am very worried that it will worsen with being in sweaty bike shorts for 3-5 hours a day. I am bringing a 3 day treatment with me, but wondering if anyone out there has advice to nip it in the bud and start the healing in the next day and a half, home remedy or otherwise? I would be very greatful to hear from anyone who has gone through something like this. Thanks!

I've never had luck with a one-day dose. Try a 3, 5 or 7 day doses instead. Get Diflucan from your doctor if you'd prefer an oral medicine, but be forewarned that it can mess with BCPs.

Well I can't offer any different advice on the medical issues besides go tothe Dr.

Once you are on your tour, be sure to change out of your bike shorts immediately each day after the ride is over. Wash thoroughly and dry before wearing again. Do not even think about wearing the same pair without washing no matter how short your next ride might be.

And have fun on your tour!

Thanks for your advice... just called the Dr. and she called in a prescription. Feel much better now! And I'm bringing 3 pairs of shorts with me and plan to wash out worn ones in the shower after riding. Love these forums!

I've always had a lot of luck with AZO Yeast Treatment. One little homeopathic pill a day works wonders at reducing symptoms. I don't know if it would negatively affect your Diflucan, though.

    Have a good tour!
