OK, why is it called cake if it's cookies (macaroons)?
I'm guessing Sandra and Sarah Bernhardt are not related!! Similar mishap that started this whole topic!

Not sure, and I'm not sure that's the right recipe, just googled it.
Bikeless is that what you meant? Note to TE gals Bikeless is an incredible cook.
Care to demonstrate the cake? Don't know if you could fit all my birthday candles on a macaroon.![]()

and yes, doc, I don't think Sandra and Sarah Bernhardt are related nor is there a Sandra Bernhard cake.

I dunno. I just had this voice in my inner ear saying Sarah sounds-like-Bernard ... actress, cake. Don't have my recipe books here. But it could be the cookie. Norwegian has the same word for cookies and cakes. Then too ... we make some cakes with a macaroon base (like one called a Georginakake), so we may make Sarah Bernhards in both single-portion and family-size versions.![]()
But now I'm gunna do lefse. If they work I can bring a stash along as ride fuel. I'm even making some pink ones (no, not food coloring, just red potatoes)

Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
