First new bike for years!

Ordered a new bike the other day, should have it by the end of the week - very exciting! I have been riding a Specialized Hardrock which I've had since about 1994, and have ordered a Specialized Ariel Sport Disc - think I will notice quite a difference in bike technology since the 90s! I will mainly be riding paved / gravel trails, and have a 55-mile ride planned for the end of September with a couple of friends - the longest I will have ever ridden so I need to get into training for that, as well as getting used to my new bike!
