I am so excited to announce that.....
I finally brought my new baby home yesterday- Saturday January 28, 2006
Hubby and I went to Madison Wisconsin yesterday and brought her home.
Although it was a very nasy, and rainy day..we still brought her home.
Yes- folks...
I am the proud new owner of a Trek 7.5 FX (17.5" frame- Alpha SL Aluminum) color: Matte Smooth Silver, and I think she's gorgeous, so of course I'm a little proud. I did not get a chance to ride or test her out yesterday, cause it was just to yucky out, but I did a little today...but oh was it windy, damp and cold here. But I did go for several blocks and wow- nice, lightweight and easy to pedal. A big difference to the Navigator comfort bike that I have.
I also changed out the seats and paid a little in the difference. I'll let you know later on when I get to ride for a longer period of time and for a greater distance how that goes- okay. So -now I am waiting for warmer, dryer weather.
I also got a pair of Nike Kato 03 shoes. There wasn't much to choose from, but anyway- I tried them on and they felt pretty good- so that's what I ended up with. Now- I will have to practice clipping in and out.
Well, I just wanted to announce to everyone..my good news.
Happy Riding!!!

congrats Teresa!! I'm jealously happy for you! and I know what you mean about the Nagivator - the 200 was my first commute bike and this year after riding road bikes all summer, I just couldn't face riding that Tank again! Enjoy your new friend!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"
WOO! New Bike.Congrats Teresa.
Mel
Thanks everyone for the congratulations and all.
I knew you gals would understand and share in my enthusiasm.
I am so anxious to ride it tho...but it is so cold out there and
we are getting snow! I've been reading the threads about winter
riding and winter clothes!
I am gonna have to invest in some of this type of clothing.
Mercy me....I just can't seem to wait for spring weather.
I wanna ride...... sorry for my ramblings.![]()
Catch ya'll later okay. Again, Thanks ladies.

Hi,
Congrats on your new bike. Just wondered where you bought it and if you have been happy with the shop? I'm from central WI and looking to buy first road bike and may have to go to bigger city like Madison to test ride.
Thanks,

Oh Teresa... very pretty... I am not one for lots of colours and stripes etc and that silver just makes her look so elegant...
Here are some names that have silver meanings... I don't know if any will appeal...
Argenta is from Latin and means "the silvery one"
Eirian is from Welsh and means "silver"
Tatyana is from Russian and means "silver haired one"
Artemis is a Goddess hunter... she uses silver arrows...
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
"I will try again tomorrow".
Road Raven:
Wow- some very interesting names...very clever...oh and I never thought of a bicycle as looking elegant. But, hey...sounds great to me.![]()
Yep, I think she's elegant looking. Now, if it would warm up enough for me to take her fo a ride and get to practice clipping in and out of my pedals. I am so anxious...I can hardly stand it.
Ahhhh...hurry up spring and get here to northern Illinois
Wisconsin:
Hey there...where exactly do you live?
Yes, I got my bike in Madison (Machinery Row).....can't wait to get back up there and ride around the lake!!! Yeah, I am tired of all this white stuff (snow) and actually it has been a very mild winter...not sure why I'm complaining about it. I think I am just ready for spring.
