    Talking Yippee!! Newbie to everything!

I am so excited to be here! I have been lurking for about 2 months now and finally did the deed. I registered so now I can post & ask questions … and I bought by first road bike!

Let me introduce myself first. I am Jenn in Hicksville, Ohio (NW corner where OH, IN, & MI meet). I am a 29 yr old wife and mother of 2 (6 & 8). I also work full time as an Administrative Assistant.

After our first child my DH and I went out and bought bikes to have a cheap & fun thing to do with the family. My first bike was a Diamond Back comfort mountain bike. We also bought a Burley Cub pull behind trailer for the kids. We loved this and went on a ton of rides over the next 6 years. This past summer was one of the best. Both kids have a Trek of their own now and we did about 20 rides this past summer with the kids in public parks, greenways, etc. Our favorite rides were in Grand Rapids Ohio, in the Toledo Metroparks. We did a 16 mile ride over the old canal towpaths.

Then in December I decided I wanted to do a 100 mile tour this coming summer. So my search began for a great bike and I also started “training” at our local fitness center. I also started WW (core plan). I finally decided on a Trek 1000 Comfort. Since Monday was President’s day & my DH & kids had to work I went shopping! $1200 later I am now fully equipped with a great bike, shoes, shorts, HR/computer, the works!

I am so excited and thrilled! I just wanted to say thanks for ton of information. I am now 12# lighter, and able to do a good 60 min bike workout in the gym. I am well on the way to my WW goal of 38# total, 100 mile ride by Fall.

Thanks again & I look forward to “meeting” you all on the boards. Oh, I also added myself to the TE map, that map is really cool!

Look for the thread entitled "Map of TE Members". It's either the first or the second thread from the top when you look under the Open Topic heading.

Hey there JJ and Happy biker

    Welcome to the forum

Great intro JJ, look forward to seeing you round the boards...

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".
