Waiting to hear about your first post-surg. ride. And since you're half dressed already (what a great idea to use your jersey pockets), get on out there! But take it EASY.
You're always an inspiration![]()

Yay, Marni! You go! You are totally inspiring to me.
And that beer is great...we tired it (on draft) on the recommendation of our server a few weeks ago at a pizza joint. I may have had two. In fact, I know I did.![]()

haven't made it back onto my bike yet, the bruising pain is making me a bit hesitant to put pressure on the area, as in leaning on the arms, but I have at least hit the gym 2x. Did an hour on the elliptical yesterday and was thoroughly depressed by the lack of cardio endurance, got the hr. up to 115 but felt totally wiped at the end. Did an alternate stride and step (super stair) machine today with minimal resistance and din't do much better. Sigh...
Looks like it's going to be a long hard climb back. Will try out the trainer tomorrow and see how my arms feel. The bruising and pain are going away ever so slowly. sigh...
I will hang in there, and I will get there, but it's enough to make one weep.

Any surgery is like your body has been hit by a truck, no matter how minor.
I remember going out and walking on the school track about 5 days after my first son was born. I had lost a lot of blood during the delivery; so much that the pediatrician told me I looked like death! And I was shocked that a simple walk was making me dizzy. All I could think about was getting back in shape and losing weight. I went back to the gym after 2 weeks and made myself sick doing aerobics.
I learned my lesson. The body has a way of telling you when you need to go slowly.

Fantastic news!
You've been on my mind a lot lately. I'm so happy to hear your surgery went well and the recovery is underway. You're incredibly strong. Even with a slow return to your regular workouts, you'll get there. You're a rock star.

Getting in touch with my inner try-athlete.
hit the trainer (which dh kindly moved into the house from the garage, set it up right under an ac vent and bought a table fan for as well- he's good guy) today for an hour. Didn't push it very hard, kept the cadence at 60-65, worked up a slight sweat, legs felt ok but the arms and shoulders are definitely less than happy. It feels like my entire posture and position have changed but that may be just as much mental re-imaging as actual physical change. I will try and do a little every day and see how it goes.
Thank you all for your support.
