Exactly.
I've had black bar tape on all of my bikes. I have red now, but black is just easier. Doesn't show dirt and matches everything. I could care less about color and never have considered it when choosing a bike.

That's why I wear all black shorts- because I can spit on my greasy hands, wipe them on my shorts and no one knows the difference.

Ditto the black bar tape. I once had blue but it got so dirty so fast. Sometimes I feel sort of like the charles schultz peanuts character pigpen. Dirt just seems to spontaneously appear whenever I am around the bike.
