I think they try to follow what they perceive are fashion trends but they must have a test market group that gives new designs the thumbs up. I think we need to complain about stuff like this so they know how "real" riders feel!(I'm rubbing my hands together and composing an email to Performance right now!)

Uh-oh. I really like the Performance Ultra shorts! I'll have to go to Performance and check! BTW, nuthatch, which Performance did you go to? The one in Naperville?

Yes in Naperville. They're having that rebate thing on bikes right now and they talked me into ordering a Rocky Mountain Sherpa with the rebate. I know I can always send it back if it's not a good fit or don't like it but it gives me the willies to put down that much money on something I haven't ridden or even laid eyes on!
I hope they still have a pair of the Ultras in the store so you can see them - I still can't believe how see-through they are!!!
