    Today:

B: multi-grain hot cereal with nuts, blueberries, skim milk, and 2 scrambled egg whites

33 mile bike ride (during which I had Heed, a banana & a Nutter Butter at SAG)

L: Roasted chicken wrap with home-made Tzatzi sauce (with no-fat dairy) & a small granola/blueberry "parfait" with fat free Greek Yogurt

    S: frozen banana

D: Thinking about a turkey bacon BLT wrap and a beer. I am not very hungry, but net calories are so low that I figured I had better eat something, I want to go play on the mountain bike in the morning before it gets too hot

Crankin - I love how you are able to indulge in small amounts of comfort food (like ice cream) that doesn't sabotage your day. You are my example I can get away with very small pieces of brownies or chocolate, but home made cookies, as well as ice cream, are a different matter. I dare not have them in my house except for when I am making cookies to take someplace. Sherbert or frozen fruit just aren't good ice cream craving subsitutes...

I can come over and help with the cookies.
I know you're on a fairly restrictive diet, but I find a small amount (1 ice cream-shop scoop or less) of full-fat premium ice cream satisfies far better than a larger amount of other stuff. *sticks face back into her dish of Graeter's*
    Unless it's gelato, of course.

    Yesterday:
    Cereal with 1%, orange juice
2.5 slices of wg bread with red pepper hummus
Strawberries, Greek yogurt, the last of the granola
WF wine tasting thing--3/4 glass of wine total (not a wine drinker, me), small amount of kale salad, two chicken wings with potato slices, mac&cheese, marble pound cake
Half a burger, a few fries, Caesar salad, half a roll with butter

    Today:
    Cereal with 1%, orange juice
24-mile ride (1 shot block, water, bit of gatorade)
my usual post-ride frap, a tiny scone, chips
The other half of the burger, salad, spicy slaw, the rest of the fries, ketchup
Bolthouse protein drink (the mocha thing) cut with skim milk
Small amount of chicken curry, rice, broccoli
    2 handfuls of cherries
Small amount of mocha chocolate chip ice cream

Oh I agree entirely, which is why I generally go to a good ice cream place and get a single dip cone when I HAVE TO HAVE ICE CREAM

I've played with the idea of getting a small container for the freezer to see if I really do have enough discipline to have only a small amount of it. Now the weather is calming and my weekly mileage is up to where I want it to be I think I will have to try it

I decided to follow your advice I did damage with the cookies yesterday, and much to my surprise this afternoon I was satisfied with the ice cream after I carefully measured out a serving. Just to be safe all I purchased was a pint of Ben & Jerry's to see if I can be trusted with ice cream in my freezer...

I've been on a beans and rice kick. James and I are trying to spend less on food and beans and rice are cheap, nutritious and plentiful.

Today it's lima beans slow cooked with smoked ham shanks, onions, bell peppers and celery served with rice. Oh man, I can't wait!
