(Not saying that the driver shouldn't be consoled - even if he was having road rage problems, I don't think he expected it would escalate to a dead cyclist - but just that the image of him being consoled doesn't mesh with the story).
I had the same reaction...and after reading the story I am suspicious that he was putting on a show for the camera.
