I did the Warrior Dash here in Louisiana a few months ago. It was A LOT of fun, in spite of the ensuing tornado that eventually shut down the afternoon heats of the race. There was a group of 6 of us, it was more of a "fun run 5K" than a race for us and we were all able to complete it under an hour. We're all pretty fit and just did it to have fun not really "compete" per se, I mean really, we were in kilts and all haha.
If your course is anything like ours was, I'd say run it in cleats instead of tennis shoes, we were slipping all over the place. Most of us just had on a pair of old running shoes that we left at the finish line. You'll see people there in different levels of physical fitness but the common theme is having fun. Bring a change of clothes, a towel, trash bag for your muddy/dirty clothes if you plan to keep them, duct tape for your shoes, again, it was muddy and people were losing their shoes in the mud.
The cargo net isn't as "challenging" as it sounds. Also, with the junk cars think Dukes of Hazard and slide across the hood ha ha that seemed to be the best course of action and took the least amount of energy at that point ha ha. I actually think/thought the hardest obstacle was the one that is built by 4 x 4s that you have to climb over, like walking the plank and balancing yourself in wet shoesI think you'll be fine if you pay attention to the course. Just go out there and have fun!
