Depends on the brand of bike. Some brands have elaborate websites where you can design your bike and its paint job. These are usually the high end bikes. For a while Raleigh had some nice red and black paint jobs on their off the rack bikes.

I just wanted to chime in and say they aren't necessarily "men's" bikes. Some bikes even have separate women's models that are the exact same geometry, just different colors (I have one mtb bike in mind but can't think of the company right now). So don't necessarily rule out a bike because you think it's a "man's" bike without actually taking a spin on it.

+1 on this.
Depending on how you are built, a "mens" version of a bike might just be perfect for you. I would ride some and try it out. And remember, you don't have to take a bike exactly the way it comes out of a box. If the frame fits but the bars are too wide (for example) you can just put narrower bars on the bike. Pretty simple.
Also, you may be able to get the color you want if you talk to your LBS and get them to find an older version of a bike you like. That's how I ended up with my new hot pink and black bike - it's a 2008 frame that was leftover in the factory and I got a good deal on it and built it up from scratch - all because of the color.
HTH!
I have a red and black cervelo. Its a genderless bike, but fits this women better than any women's or men's specific frame does. As a typical women with long femur's, I find the 73 degree seat tube angle on all frames, even the smaller ones, turns out to be better suited to me than the wsd models with steep seat tube angles.
Another option is Trek, which does offer the project one option which means you can select the paint job. Same goes with any custom frame.
Thanks Triskeliongirl. I will look into the Trek option.

Life goes by pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, and do whatever you want all the time, you could miss it.

Fit is more important than color. Being miserable on bike that doesn't fit is no fun no matter what color it is.
(full disclosure: I have a red and black bike that fits perfectly...don't be a hater!)
Fit might be more important than color but there's no way I would have paid 2 grand for a bike with a color I don't like.

Oh, I have nothing against buying a "mens" bike. My intial hunt just started with "womens". If I find a red and black mens bike that feels good to me, I will get it. (If the price is right![]()

I will not spend 2 or 3 thousand for a color I don't like. The bike I have now is light blue and silver. I HATE blue!
