    oh that is just AWESOME!!!

as to maintenance... does your local LBS offer "beginner" classes? I know our Trek Store has a bike class that teaches how to change a flat, use a patch kit, put on a dropped chain, clean the chain, adjust the derailleurs... hmmm... probably more but that's what I remember! LOL... if not... go to your local LBS and ask the mechanics if they'll show ya the basics...

biker nerds love to talk about bike stuff!!! and therefore here I am! LOL

congrats on the bike... very happy for you...

Thanks to all of you for nice replies.

People that love to ride bikes are SUPER nice! I noticed that at the bike race too. Happy bikers everywhere...just like me...
AND we do all love to talk about it! I can't wait to understand everything. I will check out my LBS shop to talk some more and hopefully learn a lot!

LOL... my sons are at me to buy THEIR bikes!
Mind you, they are still in their teens... maybe i'll get a present in kind when they are older and earning?

How cool is your son, HB... always fabulous to get a present you really want or will enjoy!

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".
