    What's for breakfast?

I'm on a Grape Nuts kick. So it'll be Grape Nuts and Skim Milk. I tend to eat the same thing for breakfast. Breakast is usually either oatmeal, whole grain cereal, or English muffin with peanut butter. I'm a pretty boring eater. Lol

I love Grape Nuts (especially microwaved for 30 seconds to a minute), but they're so calorically/carb dense I try to limit my intake. Right now I'm big on shredded wheat n bran microwaved with a cut up apple in it and light soy milk. Or super good quality wheat bread with a scraping of good peanut butter.

And always the large soy latte.

Oatmeal (quick-cook) with walnuts and raisins and a little bit of milk.

    Or pound cake.

    And definitely coffee.

    I rotate between:
steel-cut oatmeal with various flavorings (maple syrup+walnuts, peanut butter, almonds+dried cherries)
bagels with cream cheese (now banned due to the incident with the bread knife...)
Toast or English muffin with peanut butter and jelly
Cereal (I'm on a Great Grains kick right now. Nom.)

    Maybe orange juice, maybe tea.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

If I have time to cook: 3-egg omelet with spinach and cheese

If I don't have time to cook: plain Greek-style yogurt with walnuts and blueberries

    ...I'm a boring eater, too.

When I eat breakfast, it's either Kashi Honey Almond Flax with some soymilk, or pancakes, or a muffin. No coffee unless I'm working - don't want my body to get too "used" to the caffeine and not keep me awake at night like I need to be for work

This week will be either cranberry nut muffins - doctored from a Pillsbury nut muffin mix with dried and frozen cranberries, more nuts (walnuts & pecans), and sunflower seeds added. OR toasted wholewheat seedy bread with butter & jam. Sm glass of juice, medium glass of skim milk.

Coffee when I get to the office

Sundried tomato and spinach chicken sausage, sauteed mushrooms, 2 eggs, and a tomato. 3 cups of decaf coffee. 2 pieces of chocolate. A glass of cranberry juice. 3 quesadillas with tomatillo salsa.

    I like breakfast.

Why do you eat the same thing for breakfast?

Coffee, black. Two cups. Today I added a slice of cranberry, orange and walnut bread from the farmer's market. On occasion plain Cherrio's with a dab of milk.

I eat something sweet and carbs. It instantly wakes me up and savory stuff makes my stomach hurt all day. I have one or two cups of black tea every morning with honey and soymilk. Maybe a small piece of bread or a few pieces of fruit.

I have certain things I do. One cup of fat free plain yogurt, 1 tsp olive oil, a little vanilla extract and some fruit, like half a cup of peaches or apples, berries, etc. I also make instant oatmeal using water and egg whites. The egg whites give it some protein.
Thomas' whole wheat bagel thin with avocado, jennie-o extra lean turkey bacon and a poached or scrambled egg on top (a sandwich). I don't eat these all for breakfast - I choose one and eat it. I rotate these things.

Breakfast is my favorite meal. I can't eat the same thing everyday for any meal, but especially breakfast. I also don't like cereal. It doesn't fill me up at all. I tend to focus on protein: egg white omelettes, regular eggs a couple of times a week, whole wheat bagels, Greek yogurt and fruit/nuts, tuna or salmon on tomato with cheese. Sometimes I eat a sandwich, like before a ride.

Most boring breakfasts here-- a bowl of (generic) plain spoon-sized shredded wheat with organic whole milk and seasonal fruit. Plus coffee. Almost every day, for years on end. Works for me!

I do enjoy other "breakfast-y" foods, like eggs or pancakes or whatever, just for dinner not breakfast...
