    Ode to Cortisone Cream

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Ahhh...so between my saddle pinching/chafing issues and a sudden freak heat wave on Sunday I ended up with some pretty itchy/raw lady parts, due in large part to dermatitis or eczema (I have allergies and asthma and am also prone to dermatitis. I couldn't even wear the new silicone banded Road ID last Summer, since the combo of sweat and sunblock made for a hyper itchy and red band around my wrist. I get itchy, peely hands under my gloves during the Summer months, too).

I read a few threads here on TE recommending cortisone creme for saddle irritations.

Ahhhh...relief! Amazing what a simple OTC topical ointment can do for unhappy bits.

Anything with the word 'Cortisone' in it sounds great to me! Glad that helped!

I'm really prone to eczema if I'm stressed, and like you I get those rashes under silicone watch bands/flip-flop straps, etc if it gets wet or sweaty. Cortisone cream (or its stronger, Rx-only cousins) are my best friends.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

YES! It was a search for help for chafing that led me to these forums a couple of years ago, where I found a suggestion for cortisone cream. Ahhhhh, relief!!

Ha, I'm on inhaled steroids and albuterol for asthma, so I could never be an elite cyclist, anyhow.

My dad had to go on EPO. I tried to cheer him up by saying he wouldn't be allowed to ride in the TdF now ... not sure if he was amused or not.
