Me too! I have a LOT of confidence issues with bridges, stone walls and steep downhills. When I ride, I compensate. When I race, I don't even think about these things, and am amazed at what I have accomplished by the end! I find the same is true for night riding - if I can't see it, it doesn't freak me out as badly .

Indy - the spouse filter is a hard thing. Your DH, of course, meant well, but when we are out doing something that we are afraid of, the spouse filter goes into full effect. What they say may be something like "If you do this, then..." but what we hear is "You suck!". The clinic will be great - while your DH can teach you lots, you will learn more productively from someone else .
