"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." I've only ever had 2 cats at the same time once in my life, when I took in my Mum's cat when Mum died. My cat, who truly ADORED me, but hated all others, and thought she owned the house, was not happy. (that would be an understatement)

I always said how envious I was of people who have cats that get along, who even can be in the same room together.

Well here are Maeve and Finbar in their new "kitty condo", which was their treat with our income tax refund.

Maeve and Finbar are too sweet. You sure know you're a cat person when you spend a tax refund on them!!!

Thanks! The Morkie in the background is my friend's dog, "Malkie". In fact, Malkie will be arriving tomorrow morning for another stay

One of the best shots I've ever got of Pokey, my elderly dog. He was recently diagnosed with an enlarged heart, to go along with his thyroid and kidney problems, but he still understands the joys of sprawling out in the grass on a spring afternoon...

Awww Pokey is so cute! Sorry to hear of his condition. But sounds like he has a great mom!

Awww...sorry to hear about his health issues. He's cute! What kind of dog is he? My in-laws had a dachshund named Pokey many years ago...

He's just a big old mutt, from the local human soceity. He was my dad's dog, and I was lucky to inherit him. But I would have named him something else.... And from his point of view, the pills he takes daily are a great thing, as they come hidden in pieces of hot dogs!
