Dear everyone who used to own my house:
Did it ever occur to ANY of you that the carpet might be getting a little worn? A little disgusting? There might be lots and lots of things living in it? I mean, 40 y.o. wall-to-wall carpet is clearly not luxurious anymore.

I am experiencing firsthand why none of you ever wanted to be the guy to get rid of it (SO GROSS) but man is it going to be nice when it's gone. But fyi, anchoring the carpet under the pergo flooring (that you installed over hardwood and possibly over carpet as well) was a really stupid idea. Not to mention the room is now about 3 inches shorter. Don't do that again.

Dear neighbor downstairs with motorcycle and race car in garage below us,

I understand that such vehicles require a certain amount of maintenance and "revving", but you have no idea how annoying it is to those of us who have to listen to it drone on and on. Particularly on temperate days when we want to have our windows open.

I haven't noticed anyone else who has a garage in this complex using it as a car/motorcycle maintenance "shop". What luck we have.

    P.S. I can't wait to move!

    Just call me Grace

Dear Klutz, otherwise known as me,
So I know it felt strange getting on the bike without a helmet, I mean it's the first time she's been mounted on a trainer, but we were inside. Get the need helmet thought out of your pretty little head.....

So we get on the bike, and off, adjust the trainer, on and off again, adjust again. So you were worried about kicking the nick-nack glass shelf thing and breaking the glass, but did you need to fall off the bike the other way and nearly crack your skull? Maybe I do need to ride with a helmet all the time.

Fortunately no cracked skull, just a slightly bruised butt that hit the end table on the way down.

    Grace, that's me.

I had that same experience my first time on a trainer. I tilted and came within about four inches of impaling my temple on a guitar stand. Yikes.

I recommend a rubber mat under the trainer, too, to help avoid slippage during your ride. Sort of like a yoga mat for bikes.

Glad you missed banging your head.

    Dear uterus,
you gung-ho little go-getter you, haven't you noticed that we turned 49 this week? And we've had an ablation? And we've been well past childbearing for at least 20 years now (and weren't you just the little over achiever on that front, getting pregnant the first time ever?). Give it a rest, will ya! I'm tired of this 10 days on 20 days off routine. I hate you...
