I hope all you other folks in the path of last night's storm are okay. We had several funnel cloud sightings and tornado warnings. I spent a little time in the basement but we were fortunate and had no damage. The weatherman said the 3 storms over Missouri merged into one before it came across Illinois which lessened the intensity. It was still a booger!

BikeChick, glad you are ok and that your house didn't get any damage. Lucky you to have a basement! Did you grab a safety kit or a pooch on your way down?

It was the weirdest storm that I've seen yet. The radar had at least a dozen super cells in the region and it seemed that a tornado was spotted about every 10 minutes or so. I knew it was going to be a wild ride when the regional news station posted all the Wednesday night church services that were cancelled and all the schools that were being let out early to be available as a storm shelter.

Looks like Bloomington, IN has damage. Hope Mr. Bloom is ok.

glad everyone is OK so far. Was surprised when I saw the coverage this morning.
So far this year in only 3 storms we've had 59 tornadoes in the state. 52 is our average. And the season has just begun...

While no tornados touched down in St. Louis, we did have 3.5 inch hail in my neighborhood! I'd been out to eat and got marble sized hail there and when we got home 30 minutes later there was golf ball sized hail that had been melting in 80 degree weather for 30 minutes! I was lucky enough to only have a slightly cracked outer layer of skylight and some unnerved chickens...
