    Me too!

That is so funny> My usband finished building my new bike today! We both got new bikes on the same day. And your seat is the only thing I am waiting for. That is truely weird. Your bike is wonderful by the way. It looks like you spared no expence?

Running Mommy, that is a beaaaaaaaaaaautiful bike. For a name you could go the old "Christian" style route and go with 5 or 6 all strung together... like Coleta Faustina Nalda Valentina Seduza. Just line them all up.

Denise, my response as I looked at the pictures: Ho-lee Sh**t! what a gorgeous bike ! Oh, man. Man oh man. sigh. You're now one of those people whose bikes I drool over in transition. I practically say, "can I pet her?" She is GORGEOUS. And you look great and strong on her.

Names-- I like "Valentina" very much! It sounds like "valient", and it sounds like you love your bike--like she's your valentine. "Nalda" sounds too much like "nalga" (butt cheek) and "nada" (nothing) to me.

I think "Mujer de Fierro" might be the way to say "Ironwoman". Hierro does mean iron, for example, when I have my patients take iron for their anemia, they take "hierro" (I mostly speak Spanish in my work). But I think the word for the metal itself is "fierro".

I'll bet you don't need to set the alarm to get up and do your long bike rides! Have a blast.

About the being "built like a stump" thing--you're sturdy and strong, and nothing's going to knock you over or blow you away. You've got powerful muscles, and you're low to the ground for power. Plus....there seems to be a guy there in Arizona who found you pretty enticing!

Your pictures remind me of a lady whose baby I delivered about a year ago. She was built similarly to you. She had such strength and a great attitude in labor and birth. Afterwards, I asked her if she was an athlete. "Oh, no...", she said. Her husband said, "Yes you are! You've run the marathon twice!" She had the heart and body and spirit to just keep going when she needed to, but she had trouble seeing herself as an athlete.

You are iron-strong, and now you have the bike to fly on! Congrats. Lise

Thats funny Lise because my son and I decided on Valentina together. He says "because you have to be brave to do an Ironman mom".. And I think he's right. Actually I think it's more like I have to be brave enough to put myself out there and toe the line w/ all the other "athletic looking" types even though I appear to be more of a couch surfer. ha ha!
My neighbor said it best she said "you know the other day Mike (her hubby) was saying that this lady on tv doing exercise didn't look very fit. I stopped him and said well look at Denise! She could run us all under the table and then some. She could kick ALL our azses! I mean yeah I'm THIN, but I'm out of shape. You are FIT! You are IN SHAPE! Your just a BIG girl. But you are a big FIT girl".
As for the high zoot bike. Well yes, I am a VERY lucky girl! But there are certainly higher zoots out there. Like the Orbea for instance. Oh those are PRETTY bikes! There's ALWAYS gonna be a nicer bike out there.
And I almost feel guilty. Like I'm not worthy of such a beautiful bike. But I've worked hard for her, so I think I've earned it. This is my third "road" bike. My first was an entry level Giant. Then the specialized that I still have, and now my tri rig. I'm going to keep my Specialized in case I need a climber, but I think she's going to be more of a trainer in front of the tv bike. Poor girl. She has served me well over the years. I almost feel guilty. Like I'm kicking her to the curb!
    How silly is that?!
I just thought of something.. My first bike I passed on to a girl who really wanted to get into tri's but couldn't afford a bike. My hubby was upset that I didn't sell it, but I wouldn't have felt good selling her when I knew someone who needed her and would love her. So maybe my new bike was from the good karma of paying it forward. And if I ever decide to give my little tiger away (the specialized allez dolce) you guys on TE will be the first to know!
    Ciao!
You won't be hearing much from me tomorrow.. I'll be RIDING!
Oh- and swimming my 160laps! 2.4 miles!!!! ugh!

Your new bike is a beaut. I am wishing you much, much luck with her.

You pics were great. I wish I had a road to no where like that, I would ride it every day (weather permitting for NY of course). Even the off road is my type of off road riding.

Thanks for sharing your bike, plus.
