I know I would have shed a lot of tears in that situation! So glad you were able to get back on the bike and make it home. Hope things will look better after a good rest...

I think the psychological traumas take a lot longer to heal than the physical ones, as serious as a broken back is. Be kind to yourself. The fact that you got on your bike and road home is a testament to how mentally strong you are, as well as physically.

Oh Clockwork.. glad you're shaken and not broken.

I think a good temper tantrum would be in order. Like only a 2 yr old can throw.

New cycling shorts are definitely in order. In a nice cheery color. Like from here: http://www.aerotechdesigns.com/wildprintspandex.htm

Not that I'm brave enough to wear them..

Hope you get to feeling better!

Clockwork so glad you are okay! My daughter had a bad crash about 4 years ago and she still has issues coming down a hill.

Get a pair of new shorts! Dang shorts anyway!

    Cheers for the good wishes.

I woke up with various aches and pains this morning, so had a bit of a lazy day and I went off for a sleep this afternoon and slept for 2 1/2 hours!!!

Thanks for the link for the shorts, I think the purple shorts are a good idea, they will match the bruises.

What I did notice was this top:

How cool is this, ashame it's only for children.

    Thinking about getting stabilisers.

My partner is now laughing at the thought of when I have to use a Zimmer frame and he suspects I will probably fall off that.

I am so glad you came through it with no more injuries than you had, and I like the suggestion of a temper tantrum. That is a great stress relief Glad to hear those shorts are now gone, have fun finding new ones!

Well, did you get some pain meds. From the tooth extraction? Sorry about your mishap, and don't be hard on yourself.
