Sounds like a good summer plan!

Well, by the time you have trained for Solvang and DMD and whatever else you are planning (I forget the other doubles you may be doing), you might as well throw in the staff ride for Knoxville because it is a good course and not too terribly hard. Then you could get your triple crown!

200 miles is not easy (not that I'm an expert, but I think that almost goes without saying!), but there's enough variety in Knoxville's terrain to make it pleasant at least. Not too much sustained climbing, lots of climbing broken up with rollers, etc. Knoxville Road is a bit creepy - very desolate. Reminded me a bit of Mines Rd., but with hunters.

Well I've gotten it in to my head to do all the Stage Races. There were only 32 finishers last year, so I can be in the top 50! That is if I can finish TT in the time limit. Their website creeps me out! My husband thinks I'm insane.

MP, yep, Bubba just got home and said about your friend, "I know her. She's . . . " Definitely a small world. Always glad to hear about other cyclists.

For anyone who's not available to volunteer the day of the ride (4/29) but *really* wants to help, the Quacks always need help (uh, volunteers) in the days preceding the ride and on the day after. This is all low-visibility stuff like sorting and buying food/supplies, and cleanup on 4/30. The Quacks don't specifically ask for volunteer help for anything other than ride day, but they're very short-handed and can really use any assistance anyone can spare.

A few extra hands at the staff ride (4/22? I think) are always needed too.

Very small world. I just realized that a plaintiff homeowner in one of my new cases is a triple crown guy. Funny.

V - That's great. Why not? I have a friend who's done a lot of doubles who did the stage race last year and really enjoyed herself.

We will be having a Death Ride training ride on Skaggs Springs-Stewarts Point Road in early June or late May if you want to join us. It will be a 100 mile loop from Healdsburg. I really believe you will want to have ridden that road before the TT. We're also doing the Geysers earlier on in the year. Probably not a bad idea for you to do that as well. We will have some support vehicle for these rides, which is pretty critical as they're pretty isolated and remote places and you need support for them.

I was thinking of the TT until my husband and I drove Skaggs-Stewarts Rd. early this year. That road enough is INSANE. So have fun with that....
Maybe next year. HEck if I am climbing out of my mind well this year maybe I'll do TT. But I highly doubt it!!
