CONGRATS! I bought mine (also a Cateye Strada), and my BF took over installation...

    That's awesome.

I took my new 29er out tonight to tackle some hills and found myself tackeled instead! OUCH! Only four miles. Wow, how could four miles hurt so much? One doozie of a hill... 14% grade and 100 feet of climb in aprox a tenth of a mile... About six other smaller hills... Nicely packaged in four little miles

I welcomed death at the top, but I... Made... It.

Defiantly didn't have the legs tonight...

Guess I'm still recovering from my cold... Feeling better... So I thought!

We finally had a sunny day on Friday, so I got out and did 25miles. I have been adding more hills to my rides but I'm stiil sucking wind and having to stop. I can't seem to get my fitness back, more hills for me. I got a new Terry saddle my first woman specific. I'm not sure if I like it yet. On Saturday we had sun again so the family went for a ride and it was perfect. Then on Sunday surprise its raining again, its really getting to me. I'm riding about 125-150miles a week and most of it in 45degree weather in pouring rain and its no fun anymore. Summer please hurry!!!!!!!!!!

    Long overdue

I purchased my hybrid bike late in the season last year, and after riding it off and on over the winter months on the trainer, I've finally been able to get out to the GAP (Great Allegheny Passage) when the sun decides to shine. I'm going to mark off a "30 Before 30" list item at the end of this summer - Bike from Pittsburgh to Cumberland on the GAP over a weekend. I'll be doing this with other cycling friends and a non-cycling friend who will act as a "mule" as we camp along our journey.

    Therefore, I need to train...

Thus far I've been able to turn out about 20 miles per ride without an issue. I've had to teach myself how to fit myself for my bike, and I'm still messing with the handle bars. But all in all - that's my brag...!

    Another Bike Fit

The difference is amazing! Now that I'm on the bike instead of in it :P I feel like I have such better control now and my speed picked up a bit. Yayyy! I've only taken the bike out a handful of times but today was the first day I wasn't ready to go home =)

    Hurrah for new achievements!

I did my first ride with panniers yesterday, into town for a couple of 4lb bags of cat-food and a few other bits. Stuff that would be quite uncomfortable to carry by hand is no problem at all in the panniers. My riding this year is much more normal life stuff, shopping and nursery etc, it's nice to save the money on fuel. I wanted to go for an off-road ride today but it's been very windy and a bit grey. Which wouldn't normally bother me too much but we've been so spoiled with the sunshine recently.

I rode 20 miles today! With my new drop bars and downtube shifters! And it was awesome! I feel pretty confident I could do 35 or 40. Here's a photo along the way:

@Jordan, what kind of bike is that?

I rode 25 miles yesterday for the first time ever! Who hoo! There was a definite difference when I rode from one county (more urban & more $$$) and the next county, where the roads were noticeably rough (smaller county with less $$).

It's an old Trek 620 (1983, I think?). I love it a lot and am slowly switching out the components and turning it into a superbike!

not a total newb but took some time off after a big scare on the road. Today was my first day back in heavier traffic! Was out for only 30 minutes but I survived!

hurrah, Ruby! How do you feel now?

I rode into town to go the opticians and run some errands today. It was a beautiful morning, and the panniers are brilliant for bringing stuff back. The bike stands I saw were all 70%-100% full, which I guess is due to our fuel still going up.

    First long ride

I did 31 miles last Sunday. 1/2 of the Salem, Oregon Monster Cookie Ride. Never thought i could do it, and at the end of the day i felt good. Ok my butt was sore (looking for riding shorts now). We had beautiful weather and peanut butter and jelly never tasted so good at the 15 mile rest stop. We had a few practice rides before this one, the longest being 13 miles. Can't wait for the next ride!
