That sounds scary! Your daughter sounds like a real trooper though. I hope she heals quickly and well. Give her a gentle hug from all of us at TE.

What all the others said -- what a shock! And I'm very impressed with how everyone, above all your daughter, handled it.

You know, when she's 40 (like me), she'll be telling this story with a huge smile on her face - they day she was out with Dad and had this cool crash, what an awesome day and what great parents.

When I saw the title of the thread, my heart just sank. I'm really glad to hear that she didn't suffer any worse.

Tough kid doesn't begin to describe the girl. Broken collar bone has left grown men from being able to move let alone walk for a mile. Thinking about it makes me cringe. I've shattered my collar bone and believe me, the pain is excrutiating and to move? I couldn't move or even sit up. The girl is beyond tough.

    I wish her speedy recovery!!

She more than deserves a bucket of ice cream.

Oh wow. They hurt like crazy. She's a pretty tough kid.

Don't be surprised if ortho suggests a plate for her clavicle. They can line it up, put the plate on and she'll be able to recover and get back to normal life quicker. They can take it back out later if she wants. It's just under the skin. It's so much better than walking around with a big lump there or having shoulder misalignment problems later in life. The surgery is usually under 2 hrs and most likely, around 1. I was just in one today. It really is worth it. She'll just have a scar running along bone length, usually 3-4" long.

Good luck and take pics of the x-rays for us!
