    Cool thanks!
I know it was weird that my PI's blew out because it wasn't at a seam or high pressure point or anything. It was right in the middle on the back of my thigh. It's like the frabric just failed. UGH!
I may go w/ another pair of PI's as I know they work and then order up a sheebeest and Castelli as well. Heck that's what credit cards are for right girls?! OY!
I've been looking for a pair of Assos in black size XL but they are HARD to find! I've heard round the way that those are the absolute best high zoot shorts.

I have the high end Shebeest ones that my hubby got for me from TE. They have a thick chamois, so I only wear them on long rides, but I love them! Would love some Assos shorts... can't afford them, tho.

Third vote for the Sheebeest shorts here at TE. I used to swear by the Performance shorts until I realized that I was always having to 'adjust them' - they shift and bunch up on me. The Sheebeests are so comfortable - never have to think about them after they're on. I like the mesh panel in the back - I find them very comfortable, and the length is perfect - not TOO short, but not down to my knees either.

i always wear performance ultra shorts for my centuries, metrics and double metrics! ( i don't care for performance's century shorts but wear them for shorter weekday rides.. plus they are so long.. even the short ones! the gel centuries i returned after one ride!)

OH! and if they are PI's...... don't forget their LIFETIME warranty! especially if they are newer! either take them back to the store or return the directly to PI!

i had to get my year old leg warmers replaced cuz they "greyed" (elestic was breaking)

I have the XL Assos - I got them at the Davis, CA bike store and was shocked they had them. They're hard to find in stores, but I have seen them on line, and in XL. Also my hubby got me the Assos skinsuit in XL on line through a direct buy from eBay from some dealer in Israel. Sounded wild, but turned out ok (brand new in the package and everything). And they even changed the size mid-order when he told me he ordered them and in L and I panicked and said - need XL!

So weird about the short failure. You should send an email to PI and see if theyw ill replace them.

I prefer the Sugoi techofino or whaever they are calling it this year for my long rides. It's the ten panel short. If you buy two pair TE gives you ten dollars off. Or at least they were last week.

I love my Trashy Cat Satin shorts- unfortunately, they will be impossible to find unless you wear XS...

Good luck on your Century, though!

    performance ultra

I can second Cali's Performance Ultra short recommendation. They've served me well through several centuries...possibly my most favorite shorts to date.

I wear PI ultrasensor shorts, and I've been really happy with them. I've tried shorts from both Castelli & Shebeest and wasn't happy with the chamois on either brand.

But - if you're looking for shorts for a 100-miler this weekend - if it were me I'd stick with the brand and chamois that I know works for me rather than trying out new shorts on a long ride. That may be a rather conservative approach, but I'd hate to be out on a ride of that length and realize part-way through the miles that I can't stand my shorts!
