Glad to hear you're are home Helga! Isn't it nice to be amongst your own things again! Sorry to hear about your accident but glad to hear you're recovery nicely!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

Welcome home Helga! Keep working that rehab therapy! You'll be back on two wheels in NO time!
When I broke my leg a few years ago I had to have a rod put down my left femur. I remember being totally devastated. My friend gave me the best piece of advice. She said "you can lay around and mope about it and you'll be better in 6 mos to a year. Or you can work your therapy like your training for a race and you'll be back out there in 6 months. It's all about ATTITUDE".. Well I took that advice and wouldn't you know it- but I was back out there in no time. Even my marathon runner doctor was amazed. When I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2001 (right before 9/11- what timing) I adopted the same attitude and I think it really helped me to endure the regime they had me on. So I guess what I'm trying to say is this.. BE STRONG! You sound like a fighter, and you sound like you have the right attitude already, so keep it up and Give em HELL!!!
    Take care.

Denise, do you still have a rod down your femur? whoooaaaa, as my nephew would say. Does this mean you already are an iron-man? Hahahaha! OK, it's not an iron rod. Yet, I am a doof, and could not resist. This forum is replete with such strong, brave, funny, wonderful women. Glad to know ya all.

    one more welcome home!

    Helga:

I'm so very glad to see that you are home. Hospitals are no fun! and I've never thought they were anywhere to get well! Must feel so good to be in your own house, in your own bed. Enjoy it, rest, and work on your therapy!

    All the best!
