Pretty bike! Sorry to hear about the borderline diabetes, but cycling will certainly help with that! That diagnosis is what got me on the bike, and while I did "cross over the line" into diabetes 2 before it was over, after almost a year of solid riding and strength training several times a week I managed to reverse the diabetes.

Of course it will always be a concern but am thankful to be able to manage things properly with intense exercise and diet.

As much as cycling started out as my "anti-diabetes campaign", it quickly became something much more. It gives me joy and I now ride to ride

I LOVE your bike! It's so gorgeous! I am sure you will get all the bugs worked out with the fit. It comes in time so don't get discouraged. It is excellent that you are proactive with you diabetes, so many people could learn a lot from you. Have a great cycling season!

Welcome to TE. I am still pretty new here, too. Everyone has been so helpful in answering questions, and the support here is wonderful. Congratulations on your new bike and your change to a more active lifesytle.

Congratulations Azurah on your new bike. Those special edition bikes are so sharp and so sexy looking, not to mention how fast they look. I hope you enjoy many miles together and please share beautiful, scenic photos of your rides.

    Welcome to TE. Beautiful bike!

I have diabetes on both sides of my family and was starting to push the limits myself, so I too, took up biking. I do an American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure ride each year.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

Welcome to the TE and the Ruby club. You have found a wonderful forum. You will learn so many things from the ladies here about everything bikes and everything else as well! So supportive too.

Based on all the great things I have read here, I was definitely leaning toward a Ruby when I upgraded. So fun to teach my husband about bikes, cuz I read it here! I was so much more informed when I walked into the LBS.

Boy, if only everyone would be proactive about their diabetes the way you have been, I'm sure the world (especially this country) would be so much healthier. Good for you!

    Enjoy.
