Crankin' - Massasoit State Park in Taunton on Saturday. It was raining and MISERABLE! And the smile was because I was finished suffering

Limewave - cleaning the bike is DH's job . However, It took a hose and 4 runs through the washing machine to get the kits "mostly" clean .

I was so wet and cold that I didn't realize my Camelbak full of blue Powerade had leaked COMPLETELY. Not only were my legs covered in mud, they were also dyed blue!

And for about the last 5 miles, I only had 3 gears. I had heard a stick hit the derailleur, but also heard it clear (I thought). I figured that the stick had bent something likely, or that the mud was just so encased in the drivetrain, that I couldn't shift. Finished up and DH looked to find about 2" of the stick wedged into the rear derailleur pulleys! I'm REALLY lucky it didn't break - walking the last 5 miles of that race would have really undone me.

I am scared of rain races! If not for anything other than the bill for all the repairs. Way to tough it out.
