The ann arbor bicycle touring society (aabts.org) seems to have a large contingent of riders from the Livonia/plymouth/northville area, and I think a number of their organized weekly rides leave from points within hines park, kensington park, or the penn theter in plymouth which may not be too much of a trek for you.
