I've been skipping this thread (as well as the "spinning" section) because I don't want to think about it. Denial is bliss.

I avoid the vomitron like the plague. I have some fluid thing that someone gave me (the bastard!) years ago.

In the winter I'll run, xc ski, mountain bike and swim for general fitness. Lift for strength, yoga for flexibility. I might break out the trainer 1 or 2 times a week for short (30-45 min) interval sessions.

Spokes: you mentioned you live in a condo. If you have "attached" neighbors(especially downstairs) you will probably need to find spin time when they are not home, no matter what type of trainer you choose. ALL trainers generate noise and vibration. Just be aware of that before you drop a lot of cash.
