    Tifosi Sunglasses

Just purchased the Tifosi Tyrant, polarized, photochromatic, mocha color sunglasses from REI with my points. The glasses are only $89, and the lense is the quality of a $300 Maui Jim sunglass. I cycled over 50 miles with them this week, and hiked 20 miles with them. Absolutely unreal. They are crystal clear, and fit beautifully. So much better than my expensive Oakleys.

I've been wearing Tifosis for quite a while, both on the bike and off.

I second the assessment that they are great glasses. (used to wear Oakleys in the 1980's and 1990's, haven't had any since then, but I like the Tifosis better)

The various smaller-face Tifosi sunglasses fit me perfectly.

I too, have been wearing a pair of Tifosi sunglasses (the women's Slip w/High Speed Photochromic Red lens) for 2 seasons now and I LOVE them. I did take a look at those Tyrants, and I sure do like that "mocha/brown" frame and lens combo.

I love brown lenses. They mock the Maui Jim ones, and these are so nice. Give them a try gals!

I love tifosi sunglasses. I like the fotomatic type. (get darker in the sun). They are great for rides that start early or end late. I also second the "have styles to fit small faces" comments. I have a pair that are polarized but I can't read my watch or the cycle computer with them. The company really stands behind the product and will replace broken lenses.

Dont' forget that TE sells Tifosi :-) - though can't blame you for using your REI funds for that -

I love my red-tinted photochromatic lenses in the Gavia frame. I've worn them for 3ish years now.

Perfect timing - I'm about to order a Rx pair of Tifosi's. I'm torn between the Alpe and Dzar. Anyone have any input on them? I tend to like bigger frames. These will be strictly for on the bike, and I'm getting them in a transitions lens so I can use them on rides that extend into the night.

Your post inspired me, so when I went out to buy my cycling shorts I tried on some Tifosi glasses. It never occurred to me to wear glasses when I ride, but I noticed yesterday that as I rode my eyes got dry. Not sure what style I might get but they sure have a nice selection.

I am big Tifosi fan. They gave me 30 pairs of Slips when I did my cross country fund raising ride for Hospice in 2007. I gave them to all the ladies in my group! I still have those glasses and love them. I have bought a second pair for my car. They have 4 changeable lenses and I LOVE that they have some peripheral coverage, too.

I have a small head and love my Tifosi's. After spending a small fortune on more "high-end" glasses, that promptly scratched, I decided the heck with that and went with Tifosi which work great and fit great. I would like to add a photochromatic pair but I am not sure about polarized as I have heard some complaints from cyclists that it makes it hard to read their bike computer. Opinions?

I've got one model of Tifosi sunglasses w 3lens found here on TE. I use them for mtb. They work pretty well. W mtb there is more risk of getting scratched up w branches etc. Thus went w somethin lesser priced.

For the road I wear Rudy Project sunglasses. I love my Rudy's. I have a small face and wear size small helment. Rudy girls are perfect. Plus, I crashed straight on my head and face, split the Rudy's, and they STILL gave me a brand new pair for cost of shipping only.

For town driving and casual I have a pair of women's Oakley's I got off REI one year. They are great as well.

They also have great customer service. I have had a pair of Vogel fototec lenses that are great and give great coverage/wind protection with a frameless design. Last year the lens cracked at the attachment point of the temples. They replaced them for $10 S/H.

Oh! I NEVER ride without glasses. Too many dangers of things flying into your eyes. I got a bit of dust in my eye about 40 miles out on a ride - scratched my cornea and had to go to the ER. I would never ride without glasses - to say nothing about having the UV protection.
