Wow. Uh... I wonder if, in her golden years, she's getting a little senile (or weaksighted, or both) and she doesn't recognize herself anymore?
You might be right. I wonder if it'd be a good idea to get clear matte spray paint and spray the mirrors a foot or two up, just so she can't see herself? Then if you ever changed your mind, a razor blade would take the paint off pretty easily, too.
