Neither my DH or I has been to this particular doc, so we don't know how much anesthesia they'll give, though I have to have my DH take me there and back due to the sedation.

    Well, I react strangely to medication. I know I had Valium, mixed with something else... it definitely did not make me sleep. I could have driven home, but DH picked me up.

    Yesterday:
    2 soft boiled eggs, half a whole wheat bagel with olive oil, a couple of slices of 4 milk cheese, coffee, orange
    salad with chicken, black beans, salsa, avocado, cup of tomato soup
    nuts and cranberries
    low salt ham and provolone sandwich on whole wheat roll, cole slaw, orange
    2 squares dark chocolate

    slice of whole wheat bread with hummus

    western omelette with just a little cheese, coffee, fruit salad, half a slice of DH's raisin toast (I went out)

    salad with lettuce, chicken, goat cheese, black beans, salsa.
    nuts and cranberries before riding

    turkey burger (no roll) hot pepper jelly, cole slaw, and a salad with green apple, cranberries, walnuts

    Day 2 of low-fiber eating (in preparation for my colonoscopy on Monday):

    B: Puffed wheat cereal, protein powder, almond milk, cinnamon, coffee w/half-n-half
    L: half turkey/cheese sandwich on homemade white bread, small cup applesauce, water
    Snack: vanilla yogurt
    Snack before bike ride: glass of pulp-free OJ, 4 pirouette cookies
    15.5 mile bike ride
    Dinner: 1/2 chicken breast with feta and lemon, canned green beans and peeled potatoes, glass of white wine
    Dessert: 2 small squares chocolate, 1 scoop ice cream

    L: Beef and Broccoli stir fry with veges, brown rice
    D: 3 pieces Boboli pizza, pepperoni, onion, zucchini, tomato, mozz cheese, glass of red wine

    pack of nuts and cranberries before ride
    half a Luna Bar during coffee stop on ride (24 miles)
    turkey burger, black beans, a quarter of a melon, the other half of the Luna Bar

    then another ride, 14.5 miles
    I had about 1.5 bottles of water + Nuun during the day, on my rides
    slice of whole wheat bread and low fat provolone after my second ride

    Arctic Char with cherry tomatoes, shallots, garlic, basil, whole wheat cous cous with pine nuts
    1 piece of dark chocolate

    Best of luck emilync. My partner had one...I'm not sure what he ate or whatever afterwards, but it exhausted him for 1-2 days afterwards. He is abit older than you or I --over 10 yrs. and more.

    And this is a guy who bikes up mountains with loaded panniers.

    But results indicate he's fine.

    I have not been eating in a diligently healthy way in past few weeks. part of it is stress, just alot of stuff to do before making another switch in life.. the head spins.

    2 whole wheat waffles with walnuts and cranberries, with a bowl of blueberries, strawberries, oranges, 3 slices turkey bacon, coffee

    turkey burger with avocado (no bun), black beans, an apple

    half a bottle of water+Nuun on short (11 mile) but hilly and windy ride

    2 pieces of Machengo cheese after core work/weights

    dinner at restaurant: lamb burger with some kind of cheese (I scraped most of it off), tomato and Greek yogurt. One potato pancake (we were at a deli), and a beer.
