How about something along the lines of the "One Less Car" message?

Or something green -- save time, money, the environment...

If the traffic just got lighter, thank a cyclist.

If you found a parking space up front, thank a cyclist.

Or something like "Smart, strong, and (something relevant to your university)...love a cyclist."

Ride smart. Drive smart. Everybody wins.

"Share the road" is something we want to move forward from (it's good, but used already)... finding a way to express "I'm out in your lane, say hello!" (or, as I read somewhere, "We're here, we're geared, get used to it!" ...
