did a beautiful 50 mile circuit today in spite of the 20 mph winds from the sw as I headed out west and then south, by the time I was on the return loop, which I had planned to give me a tailwind, had changed direction so that it was alternately a quartering headwind and a side wind. Saw the first wildflowers of the season, lots of blooming alfalfa and an occasional indian paintbrush. Bodes well for the upcoming charity ride Bluebonnet express on March 27. Since that is also Texas prairie, there will undoubtedly be winds.
Ah well, let us keep our fingers crossed for bluebonnets.
