4.1 miles on the treadmill today. Slow pace (5.5 mph), but a good, easy run, and I barely even noticed the miles flying by as I was watching UNC play some horrendous basketball on the gym TV and getting pretty disgusted.

Thank goodness they came back to win the game by 2 at the buzzer.

I did the same loop yesterday that I did on Monday. I felt okay, but I was feeling a little tired after what was a long week at work. I got through it though, and am guessing that I ran three miles plus a bit of walking. I'm not quite ready to transition from intervals.
Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Continue to learn. Appreciate your friends. Do what you love. Live as if this is all there is.

    first race of 2011...

... and it was a beautiful morning for it, warm and sunny. Very windy, tho. It was a 3k, my chip time was 14:49, gun time 15:08. Awards were given by gun, so I was offically 3rd in age group (but if it had been by chip, it would have been 2nd, by nearly 10 seconds). Ran it slightly faster last year, but a 20+mph headwind for the last third of the race took it out of me. But it was a pretty cool race to likely be my final one in this age group!

Crankin - I think you should totally do it. You have five weeks. Do you want me to come up and do it with you? I am doing the Clamdigger the next day, but I could definitely come up in do this if you would feel more inspired to do it!

I ran 8 today, after not running since Tuesday. I rode on Monday and Tuesday - not far, 10 miles both days. I ran Tuesday. Then Wednesday I didn't run, Thursday no run, Friday no run. Lame! But my ankle was a little tweaky. And man, I am stressed from work big time this week. So I waited, and I'm glad I did, because I had a really good run today.
Tomorrow, I ride 40 with the bike club.
I can do five more miles.

A quick check-in. I managed to get in 8.5 miles today! For reals. Short of where I'm supposed to be, but much farther than I was even hoping to be able to run today.

Thanks for the offer, Indi. You might regret that offer if you knew how slowly I run. I felt very gung ho about it Friday and now, after riding 2 days in a row, not so much!
I am going to run tomorrow, going to have to be at oh dark thirty. I don't think I can take the treadmill for even 2 miles, so I am planning to go outside for 3 miles. I will make my decision after that. My hip/psoas is still very stiff when I get up in the AM, but the stretches are keeping it well under control. Deep inside, I know the running makes this worse, but no one is telling me to stop.
The plan is to run tomorrow, short ride Wednesday, run Thursday, probably riding both weekend days. I don't seem to do well if I run more than 2 days a week, which I know is probably not enough.

I can't read that and not tell you to stop. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! No one hears it but you. Why are you doing something that's making it worse? What is this accomplishing physically that walking can't do for you, without the pain and injuries?
