dang, some nice 10 milers in this thread, good job!
I ran 6 last night, borrrrrrrrrrrrring!, LOL!! All I do now is run 3x a week... 6miles each shot... 18miles per week, on the treadmill, booooooooooring!, LOL!!
I can't wait until it gets nice out where I can get home, change, and grab Snoopy the Beagle and run outside for 6 miles... it's so much nicer!!![]()
In the winter, I am inside at the gym... 18miles a week, all.winter.long![]()

I felt like such a wimp this morning, resorting to the treadmill just because of a little rain and wind. It wasn't all that bad out there-- warm, and the thunderstorms aren't coming until afternoon. But then I was chatting with an acquaintance in the locker room, and she was remarking on how only the more hard-core folks were showing up at the gym in the crappy weather. Guess it's just a matter of perspective...
Did my usual treadmill 6 miles, but a bit quicker than usual.
4 Miles today because the weather was so nice outside.
I got out this morning, before the rain came. Thankfully, it was intense, but short and is over now, as opposed to those just south and west of here, where there is flooding.
I did the same 2.2 mile out and back, which includes going up and down the 10% grade. I ran about 90-95% of it (more than last time). Not wearing my Garmin or doing anything else to tell me how slow I am. The goal is to run, starting out slowly (again) and build up my mileage and endurance.
But... yesterday I got an email that the New England ASU alums are sponsoring and participating in a Pat Tillman Shadow run. It will be going on at the same time they have the one in Tempe. Something is pulling me toward it; just to "do" it, with no thoughts of time. However, it's on April 16 and I don't know if I can do 4.2 miles in about 5 weeks. I know I can get through it, based on my pain and suffering in various cycling things. And, you can walk, too. But, I have done one 5K race (a very low key fundraiser for our local hospital) and it was torture for me. The farthest I have run is 5 miles, and that was 2 summers ago.
I am probably the oldest living member of the New England ASU Alumni chapter and I certainly wouldn't be running with all of those youngsters. DH doesn't run and I don't really want to walk the whole thing, either.
Opinions? Remember, it's the beginning of the riding season, too and that, in the end, is more important to me.

Got some new running shoes last night. For the past few years, I've been wearing Mizuno's Wave Rider, and have been happy with them. My new pair is the Wave Rider 14. They've changed the midsole and heel a bit since I bought my last pair, and they're even lighter. I'm eager to try them out.

After a very warm early spring we had a "cold front" come thru. So I did not have to get out before it got too warm. Good thing it is my only day off out of 8 work days (ugh!). Headed out to the "hill" (in Florida that is also known as a bridge or overpass!). Did 4 miles, so "up the hill" 4 times. On mile 2 & 4 I was running into a VERY strong wind. Whew!
