yeah, yeah, you want a new laptop for your birthday, and you want my kind computer-tech dh to fix it all up for you. I got that not-so-subtle 2 page hint. Fine, on 2 conditions:
1. start remembering my birthday, at least most years
2. turn up at my son's birthday when you're invited, with a gift

How about not whining to me about the security light war you're in with your neighbor on the other side, when you know how much your light bothers me. I'd be tempted to shine mercury vapor lamps directly into your windows, too, except that it would just mean even MORE light getting into my house at night (plus, escalation just isn't my style).

Dear *%&$^@ driver who just turned right in front of my husband last night as he was riding home on his bike. You clipped his wheel and left him to pick himself up off the road with a fractured scapula. You were apparently so inattentive to the road that possibly you didn't even know you hit a cyclist! You were a jerk and I hope your bad karma catches up with you.

Damn straight! How in the world can someone not realize they've just hit someone. Sheee-eeesh!

I hope your husband has a comfortable recovery. How can people not notice hitting someone?

My brother and sister-in-law flew out to Hong Kong earlier this morning, my poor mum, who was up all night, checked them in online. And yes to what lph said.

Dear people in the VA town my uncle lived in - didn't anyone notice that he hadn't been seen for a while, and why didn't one of you go check on him? Why did it take the insistance of family far away to send someone?

No one should suffer the indignity of being dead in their home for 3 weeks.
