...I used pure lanolin before, and I just couldn't get past the smell. It just smelled of... well... sheep or farmyard...

ha ha, I was being polite, I was telling people around me it smelled of a euphemism for donkey!

truthfully, I'm not sure what a sheep smells like, let alone a wet one (though my merino wool stuff sure smells funky/odd when they're wet)
