Or we could call ourselves the True Cinderellas. Didn't she arrive last at the ball?
Any other group name ideas? Name contest? We can hold the contest and prize open for discussions as we ride and vote on the winner when we see the finish line ahead. Might be a good distraction from climbs.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
Me too. But I've found that the HRM can be a motivator. At spin class on "standing climbs" I'm about to get back down in the saddle and recover, then I check the HRM and decide ... æh! I can go up another heartbeat or two, or I can keep it up at this rate for a few more seconds. So now I have a question. Should I wear the HRM on the ride? Or is that dorky?Originally Posted by Melody

Yes. Not dorky.Originally Posted by bikeless in WI
It probably will actually help you pace yourself. From spin class, you most likely already know your HR comfort zone & limits. So you can use the HRM to know when you need to slow it a bit, or perhaps pick up the pace. I'd wear it if I were you.

I have heart issues so I always watch how hard I push mine. I'm also diabetic so I always have sugar and my glucose meter with me.

Melody will have "my glucose meter with me."
Mel, can they integrate that with wireless Flightdeck?
I have no clue on my average speed these days, generally I'm slow but just seem to go and go and....but any time at any speed on the bike with friends is fine.

One thing I've noticed in spin class -- my HR can be getting scary, but I can still sing along with the music (quietly so as not to freak anybody out). So, tell you what ... if it's getting late and we need to hustle, I can sing and that'll get everybody else moving just to get out of earshot.Originally Posted by Melody
