haha... the fiance came first, well wait, nooooooooooooooo!!, the dog, LOL!!
Grab your coffee... long story about the dog, LOL!! We took him for a weekend in March 2010 for a possible adoption. He was a handful... 5mo puppy at the time. The women who was adopting him out was having a hard time, divorce, 3 small children, etc.. and was looking for a good home for him. He was a handful for us too.. so I asked if she had others who were interested.. she said she had a "ton" so sadly I returned himDidn't feel great about it, but felt if she had alot of interested family's, he would end up in a good home. I micro-chipped him that weekend just to help her out... gave him back and she said "don't worry, he'll find a good home". I told her I microchipped him and to be sure to tell the new family to change the name. She said "no worries". I carried on... sadly, but honestly, as I was driving away... I said "well at least he's micro chipped, if ever anything happens, and noone changes the name on the chip, they'll call me". No kidding I said that, I said those exact words!! Read on.. it gets better...
In July 2010, right before our cycling vacation (at which time we got engaged), the animal welfare calls us and tell us that they have our Beagle. I said 'we don't have a Beagle, we don't have a dog'. The welfare league said "we have a Beagle here who has your name on his micro chip, this isn't your dog"... I said "no, we don't have a dog".... and she said "that's odd, we have a Beagle here that has your name on his chip"... and then I realized "OMG!!!!!!!!, it's the dog (Snoopy) we took in March for a weekend!!!!". So I talked it over with my 'boyfriend' at the time, LOL... and he said "no way, we can't, he was too much for you, etc, etc"... I said "I can't leave him again, I can't
"... so I went up to the animal welfare and there was Snoopy in a cage, so sick... his testicles were swollen, mites in his ears
... it was so sad. He just looked at me with those Beagle sad eyes. I said "okay Snoopy, c'mon... we'll take you and figure something out". I got him all his shots right there... handed him over to the vet who neutered him, cleaned him up, got him back somewhat to good health... they boarded him for 7 days while we went on our cycling vacation... and we came back and picked him up... and he is the best dog ever!!!!!!!!!
So officially got Snoopy July 27, 2010... got engaged July 30, 2010... so Snoopy was first, LOL!!
Long story... short... we love Snoopy. He is the best thing that has come into our lives. I love love love him!! He is such a good dog and has come such a long way in the 7mo we've had him. He is no trouble... a littel bit of work, but all so worth it
so the answer to your question is "technically", Snoopy did come first!!!![]()

ha, when I read the title, I said "a dog and a husband" and I was right!
congratulations on both, and what a great story about Snoopy! (albeit a bit said he had a bit of a rough go for a few months)
What a neat story! Sounds like Snoopy was just meant to be yours.
Love the pic of your proposal too. How perfectly romantic!
Congratulations on both counts, and welcome back to TE!!![]()

Hi TriGirl... we originally planned for September 2011, but that is coming up fast, LOL!! Fiance is underemployed right now due to this sucky economy, so we want to wait until we get more settled financially between the two of us before we take the plunge so we can move from the condo to a house, etc, etc. Plus I am 48yo, he is 45yo... we aren't planning on anything huge, but I will be wearing a white hot beautiful wedding dress that is for sure! His 2nd marriage... he was married for a year many years ago... this will be my first and only wedding!!
So more likely 2012. Don't want to wait that long, but in my heart, I think it's the right thing to do.
but thanks for all your congrats. It's been a crazy 2yrs since I met him. He is darn handsome and a super guy. He is far from perfect, LOL!!... but he gets me emotionally and that has never happened in all my 48 years of life, LOL!! He is committed and I think that is way so cool. I never realized how cool it is to see someone committed to you to working things out, it's awesome.
So thanks... we'll see about the wedding date... in the meantime, we take a day at a time and totally appreciate what we have today... with Snoopy![]()

That is an AWESOME story!
I'm not a pet person myself, but Mrs. Bloom has two dogs, and a cat. She loves them...I'll only admit that sometimes, they're kinda cute
FWIW, we had a beautiful wedding (second for both of us) in December for immediate family only and kept the cost to under $1,500 including location, minister, floral, cake, dinner, photographer, etc...
