We hiked up Mt Diablo yesterday. The snowline was at 1800 feet!

I got to practice my jumping.

The rest of those pictures are here.

Today was measure day with my trainer.

    A little background:

Between May and November of last year I had developed some bad eating habits (pizza and chocolate!) and I wasn't really doing the cardio I should. My weight had gone back up to 155, which I wasn't thrilled with, but I wasn't too concerned - until Shawna did my body fat and I was at 27 percent.

I immediately started making some changes, mostly more protein and less sugar and running more often. So here I am 5 months later, 9 pounds lighter and at 18.3% body fat. I've gained six pounds of muscle and lost 15 pounds of fat. No wonder my clothes don't fit anymore! I don't think I'll be going back to the three pizzas a week routine again.

You look great! Congrats on the weight loss (and putting on muscle).

Want some cardio? Come on up here and snowshoe! We have at least 5 feet of new snow.

Wow, V! Those numbers are fantasic! Way to go! How many miles per week are running on average, if I may ask?

My running mileage is pretty lame compared to most of the runners here. I've been doing 32 miles a month since October - generally two runs a week, a three mile and a five mile. I've been working on getting in third run, but it's hard for me to do consistently.

That doesn't sound at all lame to me, especially given what yiu've shared about your other weekly workouts.

I started to do some run/walk intervals myself last week after about 15 months of not running. I don't apsire to being a full tilt runner anymore, but I'd like to add a bit into the mix again. The last time I was consistent about it, I was up to about 10 miles a week with an 8 minute-a-mile pace and was in excellent shape. Assuming my hip cooperates, I'd like to get back to doing 3 miles runs 3 times a week. You've given me some motivation. Thanks!

Most of the pics were taken with a Panasonic Lumix G2. The 4th best camera we've ever owned.

The shot of Thom I took with a Panasonic Lumix TS2.

That's awesome - you look great!

On the snow topic: Glenn and I just did a 75 miler including going up Tam. There was still so much snow on the road (which was closed to cars) that I didn't want to descend the first peak to climb the second. It just looked too sketchy to me. There was barely room for the tire in all the snow.

I wondered where you guys were going to ride today.

Glad to see the 200 K went well. We had intermittent rain here on Saturday. I hoped you weren't getting too wet!

We had no rain on the 200k. Lots of snow in the hills - it was gorgeous. We fared a lot better than the SR 300k workers ride. I suspect I'll get my share next weekend at the 300k.

    Here's today on Tam:

And we saw a bald eagle. He was so close to us, but by the time we stopped to try to get a camera, he was gone.
