nothing much to it, just poll for ideas of where to go and make reservations! I take it the one requirement would be full bar.not that I drink anyway.

Actually drinking the night before a ride is NOT a good idea. Alcohol dehydrates you. We should be hydrating ladies! Let's drink AFTER the ride!!!!

I'd be more than happy to have a post-ride libation with anyone who is patient enought to wait for me to finish.![]()
So what time will pre-ride carb dinner be? I may also want to catch a benefit in Santa Rosa -- for a peace activist out-of-work after a car accident. Nina Gerber will be singing. But if that's evening I'll just have to send my regrets and a check. Gotta get down to Hayward by evening anyway, plan to spend the nite at Trek420's so as to make it to the Cindy on time. If that's OK with you, Trek?
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

of course! Again, what's your usual pre-epic hike/orienteer/cc-ski breakfast?

Oatmeal. But now that I'm on a low-fibre diet, I guess cream of wheat. I can bring my own if it's not something you want on hand. Otherwise, the breakfast of Vikings is bread with cheese and/or jam.Originally Posted by Trek420

fiber is good for you. Is this one of those crazy diets that is supposed to make you lose weight faster than say cutting excess calories and exercising more?Originally Posted by bikeless in WI
This is my first visit to this site and my first post to the board. I couldn't pass up a Nina Gerber reference!Originally Posted by bikeless in WI

dar? Is that you my friend? or is this another Dar?
I don't know yet. A friend in Sebastopol is helping set up the benefit, so maybe there. The benefit is for some folks who live out in Bodega, though. Anyways, somewhere in west Sonoma county.Originally Posted by BikerDar
Oh, and Slinkedog? I bet you finish before me. Wait for me and go for a drink after? If I actually finish, I'll want to celebrate.![]()

And you don't have to go far for the celebratory drink - they usually open the bar at Camp Parks.![]()
Sounds good! Maybe we can just stay together the whole ride and finish together. I'm slow as molasses in January. I'm so good at getting dropped, I've made it an art form. Just FYI, there are a lot of nice calves in the cycling community out here in CA.Originally Posted by bikeless in WI
