Polycystic kidney disease is hereditary; aspirin and ibuprofen in high doses can be toxic to kidneys and cause kidney failure, but I don't think they can cause PKD. But your warning is a good one - avoid high doses of ibuprofen to save your kidneys, and high doses of Tylenol to save your liver. Which is why I drink like a fish for pain relief .
