I think that little dog Heidi is looking for more warmth- have you considered a heated dog bed?- I bet that's what she'd really love instead of trying to lie on the poor cat. My little pugs used to ADORE their heating pad beds...especially as they got older and had some arthritis and aches and pains.

I know I'm anthropomorphizing, but I get such a kick out of seeing the disgruntled look a cat can put up

Like this morning when I was running late, barged into my sons room and pulled open the sliding closet door to find my jacket - and got this righteous, annoyed and shocked, I say, shocked! look from Lyra who had ensconced herself on the top shelf. "And what exactly do YOU think you're doing here!"

I can't remember ever having seen her scared. Pissed off or fleeing guiltily, but not scared. I love cats.

    Nice name, Lisa!

Your cat is beautiful Bleecker. I for one, am a sucker for a cat with a "wild" like... like she is a mini-mountain lion or bobcat so "Sheba", female lion, suits her.

I like most animals but cats are special. Maybe not the most intelligent of animals but definitely the most intuitive and with the greatest sense of humor demostrated when my cat spends time hunting, catching and destroying a Pony-O (hair rubber band). He also likes to tortute me when I am on the computer "No Cat! I can't type when your butt is in my face!!!!" I do some graphic design and hte cat sits in my lap while I am "drawing" fascinated by the cursive's movements.

Cat's really are cool... I can't imagine life without one!

Brat Cat 1.0 has figured out how to unlatch my back door. He also pulled a "Houdini" back in September by figuring out if he climbs the top screen in my front window, it will cause the screen to drop a bit and...voila! freedom!
(I live on the 2nd floor and there is no ledge for him to "land" on...he just dropped 2 stories.) I was a basketcase looking for him. I discovered his little trick when Ghost became very interested in something outside the window and I found BC hanging on for dear life.

I'm also convinced that he knows how to open the fridge & use the microwave.

This is an old picture but it shows him doing something other than sleeping.

Hmm, I wonder if I could get him to wash the dishes afterward?

When my mutt was first getting arthritis I looked into a heated dog bed. I was nervous about an electronic one, felt like electric blankies what if it shorts as she rolls, digs in it etc. I found one that reflects her heat. She seems to love it.

I'll try to get a shot of her burrowing under it. I think it helps.

It was actually quite warm that night, 75 degrees. But a heated dog bed does sound nice, she loves her little sweater when it is cold. The animals are quite prone to these shenangins, they can be a wee bit jealous of onne another. Other times they snuggle, it is quite an amazing relationship.
