    Nothing it all.
It's just that a certain someone....who shall remain nameless...works for NOAA. And, it appears NOAA is behind the curve here. Again.
Of course, you can do what I did with my iPod, and just keep weather.gov bookmarked on your Safari browser with your zip code plugged in. It automatically gives me my 7-day forecast just as quickly as any app.

My vague recollection is that the government offered a weather app...then an appeal was posted to get online and rate it or else it might lose funding...and the it disappeared about two years ago...

All I know is that time is irreplaceable so I'm pretty careful how I spend it. I make an exception for TE .

I'm on Android, but I don't really understand why I need an app to substitute for a perfectly good existing website.

mobile.weather.gov works just fine ... and it's what DH uses on his iPhone.

You can bookmark your zip code and put a widget with the link on one of your home screens.

(Android users, to get a radar loop, have to go to the regular NOAA site, NOT the mobile site. Also, you need FroYo (Android 2.2) or later to get the loop. IOS can use the mobile site.)
